How I did it…

Most non-photographers never get to see the steps it takes to get the end result of the photo. (Photo 1) This was a result of about 15 minutes of setup and light positioning in the Rock Ranch Studio

What most don’t realize is that all these photos were taken in normal room light, but you tell the camera to only look at the extra light the strobe put out above them. So, it really isn’t this dark.

First, I was playing with two strobes, (photo 2), but quickly dropped one to get the look I was going for.

(Photo 3) was getting the light adjusted high enough to see me, yet keep the wall mostly dark.

(Photo 4) was me jumping into the shot. Photos 2,3,4 are all not edited.

(Photo 1) is the end result with a little bit light adjustment and a bit of photoshop to make it a bit crisper.

Yes, it is dark, but you really need to look at them with a computer screen instead of your phone. Absolutely love the new camera, lens and strobes.

Can’t wait to start shooting others to bring in some real fun…
